Application Timelines
The timeline below illustrates alignment in steps for applying to DOH and/or HOST pre-application rounds ahead of the competitive Housing Tax Credit Round One in 2026. Complete information is available directly on agency websites. The information below is representative of the application timelines for future pre-application rounds beyond the one illustrated.

LOI for pre-application due to DOH. Please visit the DOH website.
Pre-application due to DOH. This includes:
- Neighborly application fields A-D
- Budget spreadsheet (note that both the Housing Tax Credit Excel application or DOH spreadsheet are accepted.)
- Development team resumes
HOST pre-application due. This includes:
- Budget Spreadsheet (note that both the Housing Tax Credit Excel application or HOST spreadsheet are accepted)
- HOST Project Narrative (note that the Housing Tax Credit application Narrative can be submitted in place of this narrative)
- HOST Application Certification
Housing Tax Credit Letter of Intent due by 5:00pm MT. Please visit the CHFA website.
Conditional award determinations for DOH and HOST complete.

Additional funding opportunities following Housing Tax Credit competitive round
Full applications for DOH and HOST are due within one year of a Housing Tax Credit Award, if applicable. DOH applications are accepted quarterly and HOST applications are accepted on a rolling basis. You can find full details on the applications at the links below:
Colorado Department of Local Affairs - Division of Housing (DOH)
DOH assists developers and local governments in creating more affordable housing through gap funding for acquisition, rehabilitation, and new construction projects.

Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA)
CHFA is the allocating agency for the federal and state Housing Tax Credit programs in Colorado.
Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT)
OEDIT manages the Affordable Housing Financing Fund established by Proposition 123, including the Concessionary Debt LIHTC Gap Finance program. CHFA serves as Contract Administrator for AHFF programs.

Denver Department of Housing Stability (HOST)
Denver HOST’s vision is to create a healthy, housed, and connected Denver. The Department helps to create and preserve existing affordable housing.
